NB: This is a domestic household bulky waste collection service only and is not available to commercial operators.
What is a Bulky Goods Collection?
This service is intended for householders who need to recycle large household items that are too big for regular waste collection, such as carpets, mattresses and bathroom suites.
Who can avail of the Bulky Goods Collection?
Householders living in County Roscommon can avail of this service. Commercial and retail operators are prohibited from using this service and will be turned away.
What is the cost of the collection?
The service costs €20 per car/van and trailer. Please note all payments must be made in cash.
What items can be accepted as part of the bulky goods collection?
- Upholstered Furniture (e.g. couches and armchairs)
- Outdoor Dining Sets
- Carpets
- Bathroom Suites
- Mattresses
- Divan Beds
- Hard Plastics

What is the date for the next Bulky Goods Collection?
The Castlerea Civic Amenity Site will be hosting bulky goods collections on Friday 13th June, 2pm-8pm and Saturday 14th June, 10am–4pm
Is there an alternative option for recycling household or electrical items?
Yes, householders can recycle certain types of household or electrical items for free by taking them to Roscommon Council's Civic Amenity Sites.
