TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ROADS

ROADS ACT 1993, SECTION 75

ROADS REGULATIONS 1994, ARTICLE12

Subject:            Temporary Road Closures for the Athlone Operational Area from Friday September 18th to Monday September 21st, 2026.

I wish to inform you that Roscommon County Council has decided to temporarily close the following road at various times over the course of the dates noted (Friday September 18th to Monday September 21st, 2026) in order to facilitate urgent road improvement works. 

• L-7627 Nure, Athlone, Co. Roscommon. (Diversion - L-7611, R-446, L-7590, L-7589, L-7593)

Diversions will be in place (see attached maps).  As a consequence, there may be an increased likelihood of delays on these roads. Emergency Services and local access only will be accommodated.

Works are being carried out by the Athlone Operational Area.
