Roscommon County Council Laboratory is a purpose built state of the art facility situated in the new Civic Headquarters.

The work carried out within the laboratory involves scheduling of sampling and testing of:

• Drinking Waters
• Wastewaters
• Industrial Effluents
• Surface Waters
• Groundwaters
• Leachates

mainly as result of regulatory requirements.

This work is carried out on behalf of Roscommon County Council, private enterprises and as a shared service to other Local Authority’s.

In December 2016 the laboratory was awarded accreditation by the National Accreditation Board in compliance with the International Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2005 for 8 Drinking Water parameters. It is the laboratory’s plan to increase this scope over the coming years to cover all their testing parameters and matrices.
