Roscommon County Council administers the Housing Adaptation Grants for Older People and Disabled People, which include:

1. Housing Adaptation Grant for Disabled People

Supports works that are reasonably necessary to make a home more suitable for the accommodation of a disabled household member e.g. an accessible shower, extension for downstairs bedroom with accessible shower, ramps, etc.

2. Mobility Aids Housing Grant Scheme

Provides fast-track grant aid for a basic suite of works to address mobility issues, primarily associated with ageing, to avoid delays in accessing necessary adaptations e.g. stairs lift, fixed track hoist, grab rails, ramps, etc.

3. Housing Aid for Older People Grant

Assists older people living in poor housing conditions with essential repairs or improvements to help prolong the useful life of their home e.g. repairing/ replacing a roof, upgrading electrical wiring, repairing / replacing windows and doors, providing central heating, chimney repairs, structural repairs to a house etc.

Contractor Invitation

Roscommon County Council is inviting applications from contractors who wish to be included on a list of contractors available to carry out works under the Housing Grant Schemes.

• This list will be published on the Council’s website and made available to grant applicants in hard copy upon request.
• Please note: This list is not exclusive. Applicants may engage any contractor of their choosing.
• Inclusion on the list does not imply endorsement or guarantee the quality of work.
• The Council accepts no liability for any deficient works carried out by contractors on the list.

How to Apply

Contractors wishing to be included should email the following details to housinggrants@roscommoncoco.ie on or before Friday, 19th December 2025:

• Contractor Trading Name
• Postal Address
• Email Address
• Contact Telephone Number

Note: Contractors must be tax compliant to carry out works under the Housing Grant Schemes.

After publication, contractors may request to be added or removed from the list.

Roscommon County Council reserves the right to remove any contractor from the list if deemed necessary.
