Local Authority Purchase and Renovation loan (LAPR)

On the 22nd July, 2024, the Government introduced the Local Authority Purchase and Renovation Loan (LAPR) which is a new loan scheme for the purchase and renovation of derelict and non-habitable properties that qualify for the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant.  The scheme is an expansion of the Local Authority Home Loan and eligibility for the new support is subject to the applicant meeting the existing local authority mortgage lending eligibility criteria.

To apply applicants must complete a Local Authority Purchase and Renovation Loan (LAPR) application form which is available on the Local Authority Purchase and Renovation Loan website and return the application form to:

Local Authority Home Loan

The Local Authority Home Loan (LAHL) is available for people who are unable to obtain sufficient funding from commercial banks to purchase or build a home.  The loan can be used both for new and second-hand properties, or self-build.
