Africa Day 2026 - Expressions of Interest Sought

Africa Day 2026 will be celebrated May 2026. Irish Aid at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade have supported the celebration of Africa Day in Ireland since 2007 by providing financial assistance to the organising of events.

Community organisations are invited to express an interest if they are interested in organising a celebration of Africa Day in their local community under the following headings:-

• African Culture
• African Heritage
• African Food
• African Entertainment
• African History
• African Community in Ireland

Funding is available to successful applicants pending funding approval by the Department of Foreign Affairs. The total funding per Local Authority is up to a maximum of €9,000.00. If there is more than one successful applicant this sum will be divided accordingly.
