Healthy Roscommon Small Grant Fund 2026

Roscommon County Council in conjunction with Healthy Ireland are delighted to announce that applications are open for 2026 funding of Health and Wellbeing initiatives in Roscommon. 

In line with the Local Economic and Community Plan 2023 - 2029 Goal 5: A county where people's health and wellbeing are supported funding of €20,000 to a maximum of €5,000 per application is being made available for community based initiatives. 

This funding is prioritised under 2 specific outcomes as outlined in Healthy Ireland Fund Round 4 2023 - 2025.

Outcome 1: Increase in the percentage of adults and children in County Roscommon meeting physical activity guidelines. 

Outcome 2: Increase in target groups level of positive mental health

These Outcomes contribute to the Healthy Ireland, A Framework for Improved Health and Wellbeing 2013 -2026 and it's four main goals

Goal 1 - Increase in the proportion of people that are healthy at all stages of life.

Goal 2 - Reduce health inequalities.

Goal 3 - Protect the public from threats to health and wellbeing.

Goal 4 - Create an environment where every individual and sector in society can play their part in achieving a healthy Ireland. 

The programme budget/grant must be spent by 15th November 2026

Who is eligible to apply?

Local community groups, voluntary groups and sporting organisations with a demonstrated ability to deliver mental health or physical activity projects and/or well-being supports that will make sustained change to health and wellbeing.

How to Apply? 

Applications can be made by completion and submission of the the attached form and any supporting documentation to healthyroscommon@roscommoncoco.ie or to the Healthy County Coordinator, Community & Enterprise Dept, Roscommon County Council, Áras an Chontae, Roscommon Town.
