Green Business Hub
The Green Business Hub is an initiative aimed at encouraging businesses to implement good waste management practices, particularly in the areas of waste segregation and recycling.
Roscommon County Council will work with businesses and support staff too:
- Improve the segregation of waste into general waste, recycling and food waste in all areas of the business
- Implement actions to prevent/reduce waste

The Green Business Hub will provide resources and support to local businesses looking to adopt more sustainable practice, including waste segregation and waste reduction strategies. This will include:
- Provision of Free bilingual resources: Availability of a suite of free materials including signage, posters, bin labels checklists, training animations and testimonials to separate waste into general waste, recycling and food waste.
- Waste Consultation: Includes a one-to-one initial session at a business premises to help identify simple changes to improve waste segregation and recycling
- Waste Management Webinars: Short information sessions on waste management and the circular economy
- Staff Training Options: Circulation of information about sustainability training options for business staff
- Business Acknowledgement: All participating businesses will be acknowledged through social media
Roscommon businesses are invited to book a one-to-one session with the Green Business Hub team, who will visit your business premises to help identify simple changes to improve waste segregation and recycling.

Roscommon County Council’s Environment Department in partnership with the Connaught Ulster Regional Waste Management Office has developed the Green Business Hub in County Roscommon. This initiative is funded by the Department of Climate Action, Communications and the Environment.
