Town and Village Renewal Scheme 2026

This 2026 TVRS is designed to support the revitalisation of rural Ireland by focusing on stimulating town centre economic and social regeneration. This will be achieved through projects which support sustainable employment creation, town centre resilience and regeneration, enhancing our streetscapes, and bringing vacant and derelict buildings and lands back into use as community multi-purpose spaces through refurbishment and renovation.
The types of activities (not exhaustive) eligible for funding include;
- Bringing vacant or derelict buildings/sites back into use as community, enterprise, tourism, youth or recreation spaces.
- Development or enhancement of remote working hubs where clear demand and additionality can be proven.
- Establishment or regeneration of town and village markets, including supporting infrastructure and public realm improvements.
- Creation or enhancement of plazas, parks, green spaces, community gardens and outdoor recreation facilities.
- Projects incorporating sensory-friendly and universally designed facilities to promote inclusivity.
- Upgrade of shopfronts, street facades and murals to improve town-centre appearance.
