Heritage Week 2025 Begins!

The Countdown to Heritage Week 2025 Begins – Theme and Dates Confirmed
National Heritage Week 2025 will take place from Saturday 16 – Sunday 24 August, celebrating the theme‘Exploring Our Foundations’. The theme invites everyone to reflect on the structures, landscapes, and cultural practices that have shaped who we are.
One of the great things about Heritage Week is that anyone can organise an event—no experience necessary! For inspiration, check out the 101 Event Ideas guide at www.heritageweek.ie.
Last year, over 50 events took place across Roscommon, including walks, talks, exhibitions, and children’s activities. It’s a fantastic opportunity for community groups to showcase their work. “The Heritage Office can help promote registered events and provide materials like flags and bunting,” said Nollaig Feeney, Heritage Officer at Roscommon County Council.
To discuss an idea or get involved, email heritage@roscommoncoco.ie or call 090 6632513. Visit www.heritageweek.ie or follow #heritageweek2025 on social media for updates.
