Time to Register your Event for National Heritage Week

National Heritage Week 2025 takes place from 16th to 24th August, celebrating the stories, traditions, and landmarks that shape our identity. Have an idea for an event? Now’s the time to get involved—register your event at www.heritageweek.ie and be part of this nationwide celebration.

A small grant scheme is available from the Heritage Office to help support events. Applications are open until 8th June, with limited funding of €50–€200 available. Apply online at https://roscommon-self.achieveservice.com/

Last year, over 50 events took place across Roscommon, including walks, talks, exhibitions, and children’s activities. It’s a fantastic opportunity for community groups to showcase their work. “The Heritage Office can help promote registered events and provide materials like flags and bunting,” said Nollaig Feeney, Heritage Officer at Roscommon County Council.
