Roads

Corporate Objective for Roads:- "To ensure the development of an adequate transport network".

A satisfactory roads network is essential to the efficient operation of a successful economy.

Given the dependence of Ireland on international trade and the competitive nature of business today, it is essential that transportation and distribution costs are contained.

Roads are an essential communication link to support community development, to facilitate movement in rural areas and to foster social inclusion.

Roscommon County Council is involved in many major road schemes at present, including the N6 Ballinasloe to Athlone Dual Carriageway Scheme.
