Roscommon County Library

Roscommon County Council Library Services provides for the culture, education, information, learning, recreation and study needs of people of all ages in the county.

The service is delivered through a network of seven branches located at Roscommon, Boyle, Ballaghaderreen, Castlerea, Strokestown, Elphin, Ballyforan and a variety of centres.

The County Library Headquarters also houses and administers a substantial collection of Archives and Local Studies material relating to the history and heritage of the county.

The Schools Library Service provides stock and support to some 96 Primary Schools in the county.

The Information Communication Technologies in the form of public Internet access computers, library automation and website development continue to be enhanced to contribute to greater access and participation in the service.

The library service cooperates and participates with a number of organisations and groups both national and local to deliver a programme of events each year.
