Your Veolia Water Bill Explained

Water/Wastewater Charges

Veolia Water (Ireland) Limited have been employed by Roscommon County Council to install meters on all non-domestic and part non-domestic properties.

Veolia Water are also responsible for reading the meters, issuing invoices and the collection of all monies due for the provision of water/wastewater services to non-domestic and part non-domestic customers with effect from the 1st July 2007.

Charge Period

Indicates the period covered, e.g. 1/7/2007 to 30/9/2007

Bill -To- Address

Is the address to which your invoice/invoices are sent.

Customer Reference Number

This is your personal reference number for the supply to the location shown at "supply to.....". If you have a number of water supplies, you will have a different customer reference number for each. If you have any queries regarding any of your invoices, you should contact Veolia either at their offices or by telephone and quote the customer reference/s.

Supply To

Is the location to which the water/wastewater service is provided.

Invoice Date

Shows the date the invoice was issued.

Meter Reading

Shows how Veolia work out how much water you have used. Usage is shown in cubic metres (m3). 1m3 = 1,000 litres or approximately 220 gallons. Your latest meter reading is shown together with your previous reading (if any). Reading dates are shown in both cases.

Domestic Allowance

Where a domestic allowance is applicable, it is applied on a quarterly basis. It is then deducted from the volumetric usage. Unused allowance does not carry forward to the next quarter and it does not have any monetary value.A Domestic Allowance does not apply in the case of unoccupied houses.

Usage Charges

Shows how much your water usage costs. The charge is in euro per m3. There are three possible charges, i.e. Water only (€1.04 per m3), Water and Wastewater (€2.39 per m3) and Wastewater only (€1.35 cent per m3).

Standing Charge

Is the charge for being connected to the public water/wastewater systems. One standing charge only per distinct business unit or agricultural enterprise is charged. If you have a second meter the standing charge for it will read zero.

Veolia Water Address

Is the address of Veolia's Roscommon Office. If you wish to write to them , please use this address.

Invoice Total

Is the total of the amounts due for the current period in respect of Standing/Fixed Charges and/or Volumetric Charges.

Balance Brought Forward

Is any unpaid/overpaid amount on the previous invoice.

Total Amount Due

Is the total of the amount shown under Invoice Total and Balance Brought Forward.

Payment Due By

Is the date by which the total amount shown on the invoice must be paid.

Payment Slip

Should be used when paying your invoice through a bank or when making payment by post/calling personally to Veolia's offices at Castle View, Castle Street, Roscommon.

Payments

While Cheques should be made payable to "Roscommon County Council Water/Wastewater Account", all payments relating to invoices issued by Veolia Water should be sent to Veolia Water offices or lodged through the bank using the lodgement/bank giro credit transfer on the bottom of your invoice.

Change Of Use

Non-domestic and part non-domestic customers shall advise Veolia Water agents of any change in the status of the premises, e.g. premises closing down, removal of domestic allowance, re-development, change of occupier, premises no longer commercial, etc.

Sale/Purchase Of Non-Domestic/Part Non-Domestic Properties

Any non-domestic/part non-domestic property owner who is selling a property should either directly or through his/her agents contact Veolia Water and arrange to have a meter reading taken in advance of the change of occupancy of the property.

All payments due for water/wastewater charges must be paid before the change in the occupancy of the property.

Sellers of non-domestic/part non-domestic should furnish the Veolia Water of the name/s and addresses of the purchaser/s of all such properties.

Purchasers of all non-domestic/part non-domestic properties should contact Veolia Water in advance of taking up occupancy of such premises to ensure that their details are registered on the company's billing system and also to ensure that there are no outstanding charges due.
