Hedge/Tree cutting
Section 70 of the 1993 Roads Act obliges landowners and occupiers of land to take all reasonable care to ensure that structures, trees, hedges and other vegetation on their land are not or could not become a danger to people using or working on a public road.
Enquires are handled by the Area Offices or the Roads Department Office.
Drainage
Section 76 of the 1993 Roads Act obliges landowners and occupiers of land to take all reasonable steps to ensure that water can drain off a public road onto their land and to ensure that water, soil or other materials do not escape from their land on to the road. Offenders are served a notice by the Council which if not acted upon can lead to court action.
Flooding / Spillages
All incidences of flooding or spillage on roads should be notified to the relevant Area Office of the Council immediately.
