The Roads Department is also responsible for the management and maintenance of Burial Grounds.
In addition the Council provided €50,000 to finance the Cemetery Improvement and Maintenance Scheme in 2011. This scheme provides financial assistance to voluntary groups to upgrade and maintain cemeteries. In total, 74 voluntary groups were grant aided in 2011. The grant assistance in 2012 is €40,000.
The Roads Department are also responsible for regulations in relation to Burial Grounds. The following forms can be downloaded and used as required:
