The review of the existing Development Plan and preparation of a new Development Plan shall be strategic in nature for the purposes of developing objectives and policies to deliver an overall strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development of County Roscommon.
The Planning Authority will carry out a Strategic Environmental Assessment as part of the review to determine the likely significant effects on the environment of implementing a new plan. A Natura Impact Report will also be prepared on the implications of the Draft Plan on the Natura 2000 Network. An Issue Paper will be available on Roscommon County Council website www.roscommoncoco.ie which will provide guidance concerning the strategic issues which will form part of the County Development Plan.
Submissions or observations regarding objectives and policies to deliver an overall strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development of the area of the Development Plan may be made in writing to the Planning Authority. Children, or groups or associations representing the interests of children, are also entitled to make submissions or observations.
