Map Zone

This new section of Roscommon County Council's website groups together and provides access to a number of map based and location related applications and datasets, including the map based information portal "Virtual Roscommon", the online planning enquiry tool "gPlan", an interactive "Demographic Map Atlas", as well as Satellite Navigation and Google Earth files for download.

It enables the user to query and access information from a geographic perspective. It also provides access to a number of map related files that can be downloaded and used in other 3rd party applications such as Satellite Navigation systems and Google Earth.

Virtual Roscommon

A map based information portal providing access to a wealth of service and amenity information through an interactive map based interface. Did you ever wonder where the nearest recycling facility to your home address is and what type of material can be recycled in it, or what polling station you should be voting in, where it is located, and how to get there. These are the types of questions, along with many more, that can be answered when you enter "Virtual Roscommon".

Census Mapping Module

An interactive Census Mapping application developed and made available by the All-Ireland Research Institute. Data is available at Electoral Division (ED) and Small Area (SAs) boundary level. The data is from the 2011 and 2006 census with the following main data themes available: Population, Marital Status, Religion, Economic Status, Industry, Housing, Housing Vacancy, Households, Social Class, Socio-Economic Group, Education, Transport.

Find My Polling Station

A Google Map based application that enables the user to search for and locate their relevant polling station based on which townland they live in. Simply select your townland from a list and the map will zoom to the relevant polling station.

Development Plan Maps

View and interact with Development Plan related mapping including Local Area Plans, Architectural Conservation Areas, and the Record of Protected Structures by accessing the new Interactive Development Plan Maps application.

gPlan

A map based online planning enquiry tool. Working hand in hand with our ePlan system gPlan enables the user to query, locate, and interrogate planning applications through an interactive map based interface. Note that currently the application is populated with planning applications from 2001.

Services Map

A Google Map based application that enables the user to locate and view details on services provided by Roscommon County Council. Click on the various icons displayed in the map to display further details.

Satellite Navigation Files

This section of the website provides access to a number of custom "Point of Interest" files that can be downloaded from the website and subsequently uploaded to your Sat. Nav. device. These files are available in formats compatible with both Garmin and Tom Tom devices. Note that these files were last updated in 2009.

Download Google Earth Files

This section of the website provides access to a number of custom "Point of Interest" files, in kml format, that can be downloaded from the website and subsequently viewed in Google Earth. Note that these files were last updated in 2009.
