A significant program of investment in upgrading the appliances has been in operation in the last number of years, with thanks to the Department of Environment & Local Government. This is to ensure the quality of service delivery to the public.
Roscommon Fire Authority actively promote training throughout its members with each fire fighter attending on-station training. Specialist training is also provided to fire fighters to ensure that a professional service is provided at all times to the public.

- Breathing Apparatus Refreshers
- Defibrilator Training
- Recruit Firefighters Induction Course
- Breathing Apparatus Initial Wearers
- Junior Officer Training
- Method of Instruciton Course
- Advanced Driver Instruction
- Initial Driver Instruction
Remember that waivers of fire fighting fees are available in special circumstances.
