Operations
A significant program of investment in upgrading the appliances has been in operation in the last number of years, with thanks to the Department of Environment & Local Government. This is to ensure the quality of service delivery to the public.
Roscommon Fire Authority actively promote training throughout its members with each fire fighter attending on-station training. Specialist training is also provided to fire fighters to ensure that a professional service is provided at all times to the public.
The following training was carried out in 2007:
- Breathing Apparatus Refreshers
- Defibrilator Training
- Recruit Firefighters Induction Course
- Breathing Apparatus Initial Wearers
- Junior Officer Training
- Method of Instruciton Course
- Advanced Driver Instruction
- Initial Driver Instruction
Remember that waivers of fire fighting fees are available in special circumstances.
To apply for the waiver, please print out the standard form and return it to Roscommon County Council. This form is also available at our application forms section.
