Public Consultation – Draft Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy for the Northern and Western
The Northern and Western Regional Assembly has prepared a Draft Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy for the whole of the Northern and Western Region. This Draft strategy is available for viewing and written submissions or observations are invited with respect to the Draft.
The purpose of the Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy (RSES) is to support the implementation of the National Planning Framework and the economic policies and objectives of the Government by providing a long-term strategic planning and economic framework for the development of the region over a period of between 12 years and 20 years.
An Environmental Report in accordance with the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004 and the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) (Amendment) Regulations 2011 and a Natura Impact Report to inform the Appropriate Assessment, in accordance with Article 6 of the EU Habitats Directive (92/443/EEC), the Planning and Development Act 2000-2018, and the European Communities (Birds and Natural Habitats) Regulations, S.I. No. 477 of 2011 (as amended), have been prepared. These Reports accompany the Draft Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy for the Northern and Western Region
A copy of the Draft Strategy, Environmental Report and Natura Impact Report may be inspected during normal office hours from Monday 19th November, 2018- Friday 8th February 2019 (both dates inclusive) at:
- The Office of the Northern and Western Regional Assembly, The Square, Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon.
- Throughout the Local Authority network within the region.
- On the NWRA website at www.nwra.ie
The deadline for submissions is 5.00p.m on 8th February, 2019 and may be made in the following ways:
