Completion of the Construction of Houses in Monksland
Roscommon County Council announce the completion of the construction of 2 new homes at Old Tuam Road, Monksland, Athlone.
The modern ‘A’ building energy rated homes were designed by Roscommon based Collins Boyd Engineers and Architects and constructed by Loftus Construction Ltd, a Galway based building contractor.
The development included the compulsory purchase and demolition of a derelict dwelling and the construction of 2 modern semi-detached 3-bedroom two-storey residential dwellings.
Laurence Fallon, Cathaoirleach, Roscommon County Council
“I would like to compliment the Housing Business Unit of Roscommon County Council on the delivery of a very impressive development. I would also like to wish the new tenants the very best of luck in their new homes”

“Roscommon County Council are delighted to have delivered this fantastic development in an area that is near Monksland’s urban core/ centre and beside so many public facilities and amenities. This development forms part of many ongoing Housing projects that Roscommon County Council are delivering as part of the Rebuilding Ireland Plan for Housing and Homelessness. I wish to acknowledge the hard work of the Housing Business Unit, Department of Housing, Planning & Local Government together with Collins Boyd Engineers and Architects and Loftus Construction Ltd in bringing this project to fruition.
Every household should have access to secure, good quality housing suited to their needs at an affordable price in a sustainable community. I wish the new tenants every good luck and happiness in their new homes.”
